Men's Lacrosse Downs Arcadia on the Road

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team built off an early advantage as they pulled out an impressive 16-10 win at Arcadia University on Saturday afternoon.

Von Mabbs tallied six points on five goals and one assist in a winning effort. Carter Strauch collected his fourth hat trick of the season and his third-straight game with three or more goals. Rex Mabbs, Jackson Brosgol and Owen Hoffman also had multi-goal games with two scores.

Ryan Pretzer made nine saves in a full 60-minutes of action. Will Bernstein also led the defense with 10 ground balls for his second double-digit game of the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet opened the game with five-unanswered scores. The Mabbs brothers were responsible for the team's first two scores. Owen Hoffman then added a goal, while Rex Mabbs scored once more. Ryan Chambliss then added to the party with the team's fifth-straight goal. Arcadia added one before the end of the opening stanza to break Swarthmore's hot streak, 5-1.

- The Knights got on the board first in the second quarter. Carter Strauch then responded with an assist from Liam Woerner. Jackson Brosgol then added a tally, while Carter Strauch scored on an assist from Von Mabbs. After an Arcadia score, Clay Almgren found the back of the net on an assist from Carter Strauch, 9-3. 

- Brosgol scored immediately into the second half with an assist from Rex Mabbs. Arcadia then cut into Swarthmore's lead with back-to-back scores before Carter Strauch got the Garnet back on track with a goal. Moments later, Rex Mabbs scored on a man-up goal with an assist from Cooper Bucklan. Von Mabbs then expanded the team's lead to eight goals before the Knights scored twice before the end of the stanza, 13-7.

- After an Arcadia goal to start the fourth, Hoffman collected a tally on a goal from Nolan Ohrman. Arcadia made a late run with two consecutive scores to pull within four goals, before Von Mabbs sealed the game with two-straight scores.
