Men’s Basketball Rolls Past Washington College

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 10 Swarthmore College men's basketball team swept its season series versus Washington College, 86-56, on Wednesday night.

Vinny DeAngelo had a well-rounded evening with 17 points and a season-high seven assists, while shooting 7-of-10 from the field. Colin Shaw, Michael Caprise and George Visconti also scored in double figures for Swarthmore. Shaw led the trio with 14 points, while Caprise and Visconti added 11 and 10, respectively. 

George Corzine fell short of a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet fought off an early 7-2 run. Caprise added the first four points for the Garnet, while Visconti knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game. Visconti then gave Swarthmore the lead with a free throw and Corzine added a layup to make it 10-7 with 14:29 left.

- TJ Chapman and DeAngelo added consecutive triples to give the Garnet a five-point advantage, 19-14. Shaw eventually built the team's lead to double digits with a layup at the 4:31 mark.

- Cal Hanson connected from long range to take a 13-point lead, while Shaw eventually added a triple to extend the team's lead to 15 points. The Garnet led by as many as 17 points at the half after a Shaw layup to wrap up the stanza. 

- Visconti hit a three-pointer early in the second half followed by a DeAngelo layup to bring the team's lead to 20 points. The Shoremen slowly chipped away at the Garnet lead, but were unable to gain much traction. Shaw brought Swarthmore's lead over 20 points with a three ball, while Chapman added a layup to go up by 24 points with 11:09 left. 

- Aidan Godfrey struck from long range to extend the team's lead to 28 points. Eddie Paquette then added a three-pointer to go up by 31 points before a Corzine layup brought the lead to 33 points with 3:35 left.
