CARLISLE, Pa. – The No. 14 Swarthmore College men's basketball team earned a 67-55 victory at Dickinson College in a Centennial Conference matchup on Saturday. The triumph upped the Garnet's win streak to six games.
 
The two squads went back and forth during a tight first half before Swarthmore closed the period with a 14-6 run to go in the locker room up seven. The Garnet held off the Red Devils and maintained a decisive lead throughout the second period.
 
Vinny DeAngelo sparked Swarthmore with 17 points, seven rebounds, and four steals while 
Michael Caprise picked up his third double-double with 15 points and 15 boards. 
Nyle Coleman chipped in with 11 points off the bench.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening 12 minutes saw a close contest with three ties, the last being at 17 apiece with 8:21 on the clock. The Garnet tallied four points to go ahead 21-17 but Dickinson came back with a layup and a three-pointer for its first lead of the game (22-21) with 6:18 to go.
 
- DeAngelo answered with a jumper and Coleman followed with a three to put Swarthmore back in front, 26-22. The Red Devils closed the gap to two (28-26) before the Garnet produced five straight points for their largest lead of the half (33-26) with 2:20 remaining. Swarthmore maintained a seven-point cushion (35-28) at the break.
 
- The Garnet began the second half with a 10-4 stretch to up the margin to 13 (45-32). 
Caleb Aurelien and DeAngelo each scored five points during the run. Dickinson was within nine (51-42) with 7:43 to play but Swarthmore pulled away with seven consecutive points to lead 58-42 at the 5:09 mark. The Garnet's largest lead was 19 (65-46) as they cruised the rest of the way.
