SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Allie Zitelli produced the lone goal of the game off a corner kick to give the No. 18 Swarthmore College women's soccer team a 1-0 win over a tough Dickinson College squad in Centennial Conference action on Saturday night.
The Garnet outshot the Red Devils, 21-14, but Dickinson limited Swarthmore's quality scoring opportunities and made some key saves to keep the contest scoreless for the majority of the evening. Zitelli's goal finally came with under 15 minutes to go during a chaotic scramble in front.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Lila Travers came up with a big stop on the opening shot of the game, punching an offer up and over the goal. She made another save moments later after the ensuing corner kick to keep it scoreless.
- Five of the next six shots came from the Garnet and the Dickinson keeper made three saves to announce her presence in the contest. The Red Devils had another prime chance in the 32
nd minute but the shot rang off the crossbar. Swarthmore finished the first half with a slim 8-7 edge in shots.
- The Garnet increased the pressure in the second half, totaling 13 shots in the period. The Dickinson goalie turned away three more shots before Swarthmore finally broke through in the 77
th minute.
Keren Maze took a corner kick from the right side. The ball hooked towards the net and the Red Devils keeper leaped to corral the ball. As she came down, the ball dropped to the turf. In the scramble, Zitelli was able to get just enough of the ball with her right foot to tap it across the goal line.
- Dickinson generated three shots down the stretch and Travers recorded a pair of saves to help preserve the win.
