CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse fell to Washington College (Md.), 10-6, in the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
Six different players tallied a goal for the Garnet as they made their first appearance in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time in ten years.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Eleanor Miller tied the game at one with a little over 11 minutes remaining in the first quarter as the senior tallied her 25th goal of the season.
- After a good clear attempt by Swarthmore on a Shorewomen turnover,
Elizabeth Labows picked up a ground ball on the failed clear attempt by Washington. The ensuing offensive possession saw
Emma Holub notched her 18th goal of the season, which was scored on a free-position shot. On the ensuing possession,
Helena Irvine scored her 30th goal of the season.
- At the 9:43 mark in the third quarter, Irvine picked up her fifth draw control of the game, which sets the school record for the draw controls in a season with 98. A few minutes later,
Ashley Pyon cut the Washington lead in half with her 11th goal of the 2022 campaign.
- Mid-way through the fourth quarter,
Francesca Richardson sprinted down the field for a Swarthmore good clear, and scored as the Garnet began to battle back.
Kyra Hall earned a free-position shot with two-plus minutes left to play and the senior scored for her 27th goal of the season.
- Miller and
Helen Stafford each recorded a pair of caused turnovers, while Irvine, Richardson,
Sadie Smart and
Sofia Pelayo each caused a turnover.
- The Garnet appeared in the end of year tournament for the first time since 2012, when they lost to eventual Centennial Champion, Gettysburg. In the first round that year, Swarthmore edged out Ursinus 11-10.
