In a battle of institutions with analogous colors, the Garnet fell to the Maroons, 6-1 and 6-2.
The pair, who received All-Centennial First Team Doubles honors, had an impressive 11-2 record, including a perfect 6-0 in conference action for the 2022 campaign. Against regionally ranked opponents, Xu and Williams were 1-0. That 8-5 victory over the second ranked doubles team in the region propelled the Garnet to a 5-4 victory over nationally ranked No. 14 Mary Washington on April 9th. The pair were ranked number three in the ITA Atlantic South Region for the final three weeks of the season.
