SWARTHMORE, PA - No. 32 Swarthmore College Men's Tennis stumbled in a battle of nationally ranked opponents as they fell to No. 19 University of Mary Washington on Saturday.
The Garnet drop to 12-5 on the season, as Saturday's contest closed out the non-conference slate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- At the number four singles position,
Phil Rehwinkel earned a victory in a three-set battle. Rehwinkel dropped the first set 6-7, but battled to earn a 6-2 win in the second set and an 11-9 victory in the third set.

Noah Criss earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the number six singles position to earn the second point for the Garnet.
- At the number one doubles,
Grant Dill and
John Nichols-Daly fell to the top doubles pair in the region, 8-3. Criss and
Rushil Patel fell in a battle at the number two doubles position to the tenth ranked team in the region, 8-6.
Max Pogorelov and
Graham Hadesman fell 8-1 at the number three doubles position.
- Patel fell in two sets, 6-2, 6-2 at the number one singles position.
Kevin Jiang dropped a tough match at the number two singles position as he fell 6-3, 6-2 to the No. 12 regionally ranked Rishi Charan Shankar. At the number five singles position,
Josiah Myers-Lipton fell in a hard fought three set battle with the score of 6-1, 5-7, 8-10.
