Women's Lacrosse Powers to Victory Over Dickinson

SWARTHMORE, PA -  Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse earned an 16-8 victory over Dickinson College as they opened up Centennial Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Clothier Field Stadium.

It had been 1,064 days since the Garnet played a Centennial Conference game at Clothier Field, but everyone was involved in the party. Eleanor Miller, Helena Irvine, Emma Holub, Isabela Bloomquist and Kyra Hall each scored at least two goals, while Abigail Love, Ashley Pyon and Sophie Finkelstein added a goal. Saturday's victory snapped a six game losing streak by Swarthmore to Dickinson.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore wasted no time as Holub tallied her first of the game just 17-seconds into the game. A little under 30-seconds later, Irvine gave the Garnet a two goal advantage. Swarthmore did not allow a goal in the opening frame as they outscored the Red Devils, 4-0.

- Miller opened the scoring in the second quarter, but Liv Yeagle put a stop the scoring drought by Dickinson as the junior scored with 10:25 left in the half. Swarthmore and Dickinson went into the half with a score of 6-5 in favor the home team. 

- Shortly after the opening draw of the second half, Yeagle tied the game at six. The Garnet would go on another 4-0 run and hold Dickinson to only two more goals in the rest of the game. In the third quarter, Pyon scored with eight seconds remaining in the frame.

- Helen Stafford moved to 3-1 on the season the sophomore goalie tallied 10 saves in the victory.
