SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's basketball team won it second-straight in back-to-back nights with a victory over Ursinus College, 54-42, on Tuesday night. With five games remaining in the regular season, the Garnet improved to 7-8 in the Centennial Conference.
Dana Bandurick posted her 11th double-double of the season with 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Garnet, while
Alyssa Hayashi added 13 points for her fifth-straight game in double-figures.
HOW IT HAPPENED

T Sallie started the game with a long ball on Swarthmore's first possession, while Bandurick added a layup to open with a 5-0 run. After a Bears bucket, the Garnet responded with nine-straight points to take a 12-point lead with 2:12 left in the stanza. However, Ursinus shrunk its deficit back to single digits before the end of the quarter, 16-7.
- Both teams played an even second quarter as the Garnet exited the opening half with a 24-15 advantage. Bandurick nearly grabbed a first half double-double - collecting eight points and eight rebounds to lead the team.
- Midway through the third quarter, Sallie drained another three-pointer to put Swarthmore ahead by 13 points.
Katelyn Becker then capped off an 8-0 Garnet run with a layup to take a 34-19 lead. Moments later, Bandurick ended the quarter with an and-one layup to put the Garnet ahead by 16 points, 39-23.
- The Garnet sealed the victory in the fourth quarter as they held a double-digit lead for the entire quarter and never surrendered the lead at any point in the contest. Swarthmore led by as many as 19 points when Hayashi hit a jumper with 2:16 left.
