Women's Basketball Drops Senior Day Game to Bullets

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Women's Basketball fell to Gettysburg College, 61-49, as they closed out the 2021-22 campaign on Saturday at Tarble Pavilion.

Prior to the game, Swarthmore honored Erin Cronin during the Senior Day ceremonies. Dana Bandurick and Alyssa Hayashi led the way with 13 points, while Bandurick grabbed 12 rebounds for her 14th double-double of the season. The Garnet scored 17 points off of 19 Gettysburg turnovers. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bandurick opened the scoring with a layup off of the opening tip-off. On the ensuing possesion, T Sallie stole the ball from Christina Richson and found Hayashi for three. The Garnet opened the game on a 5-0 run, before the Bullets scored seven straight to take the lead. 

- Late in the second frame, Carolina Lopez knocked down a free throw to tie the game at 21. Swarthmore battled back in the quarter as they went into the half-time break trailing 24-21. Richson hit a shot at the buzzer to give the Bullets the slight lead.

- Sallie scored the first five points in the opening minute of the third quarter. The first bucket, assisted by Bandurick, was a three-pointer. As the Garnet went back on defense, Sallie stole the ball from Mackenzie Szlosek and scored on a fast break layup. 

- Cronin notched a layup as the opening bucket of the fourth quarter as Swarthmore reached within five points of the Bullets.

UP NEXT
The Garnet concluded their season with 14-11 record, including 10-10 in Centennial Conference action. Swarthmore finished with a record above .500 for the first time since the 2013-14 season, when they finished 13-11.
