No. 17 Men’s Basketball Bounces Back with Road Victory over McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, MD - The No. 17 Swarthmore College men's basketball team got back on track with a road victory over McDaniel College, 85-49, on Saturday afternoon.

Conor Harkins and Vinny DeAngelo each added 13 points to lead the Garnet's offense. George Visconti also joined the duo in double figures with 10 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening eight minutes saw seven lead changes as both teams traded baskets to open the game. The Garnet began to add some distance between the Green Terror when Visconti drained a three-pointer to pull ahead by two points. The junior then added a free throw on the following possession, before Matt Mulvey knocked down a long ball to go up by six, 15-9.

- Ryan Ingram added a pair of free throws, then Aidan Godfrey hit from long range to expand the Garnet lead to 13 points with 6:41 left in the opening half. Swarthmore went into intermission with an 18-point lead after Harkins drilled a three-pointer with 32-seconds left.

- DeAngelo expanded the lead to 20 points with a three-pointer at the 18:09 mark. McDaniel answered with a brief run to cut its deficit to 15 points, but Swarthmore quickly countered with eight-unanswered points as a George Corzine jumper put them ahead by 23 points, 49-26.
