GETTYSBURG, Pa. - No. 19 Swarthmore College Women's Swimming returned to the pool by handing Gettysburg College their first Centennial Conference loss of the season with a 191.5-70.5 decision on Sunday. The Garnet improve to 7-0 overall and 7-0 in Centennial Conference, while the Bullets drop to 7-4 and 6-1.
Sophie Rotival led the Garnet with three victories, while
Annaliese Chen and
Vivian Guo added a pair of wins.
Lexi Duffy,
Erin Szuromi,
Gaby Ma and
Georgi Mathews each added a victory for Swarthmore. It is the second straight season that Swarthmore finished the regular season with a perfect, 7-0 conference record.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 200-IM, Rotival swam a season best time of 2:11.28. The first-year finished the 100-free in 54.16, and the 100-breast in 1:05.62. In the 200-breast, Ma earned a first place finish as she touched the wall in 2:26.61.
- Chen won the 100-fly and 200-fly. The first-year finished the 100-fly in 58.74, and touched the wall in 2:09.65 in the 200-fly.
- In the 500-free, Guo won with a time of 5:23.22, just .22 seconds ahead of teammate
Lauren Rohde. Guo returned to the pool to win the 1,000-free as she touched the wall in 11:04.80.
- Duffy touched the wall of the 200-back in first place with a time of 2:10.62. The sophomore added a second place finish in the 200-IM. Szuromi added a victory in the 100-back in 59.42.
- In the 200-free, Mathews won the event in a time of 1:58.22.
- The Garnet narrowly beat out the Bullets in the 400-free relay to end the meet. The team of Szuromi, Mathews,
Mackenzie Tucker and
Cara Lee touched the wall in 3:41.54, while the Bullets finished in 3:41.90.

Swarthmore returns to the pool for the final meet before the Centennial Conference Championships on Friday in the first day of the Swarthmore Invitational at Ware Pool. Session one is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m., while session two is set to start at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
