SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation is proud to welcome three individuals who were hired this past semester to the Garnet family.
Amber Buller, PhD,
Mike Stratton and
Alex Schmidt all joined the Swarthmore College family
over the last few months.
Buller, a licensed clinical psychologist, works with and promotes student-athlete and staff wellness. Upon request, she will meet individually with student-athletes and coaches. Buller works with the wellness staff and sports medicine department to help develop wellness programing for the athletic department. Amber participates in presentations and discussion with student-athletes around wellness topics.
Stratton joined the department in September of 2021 as the Equipment & Operations Manager. In this role, Stratton will assist in equipment operations for each of the Athletics programs and prepare the facilities for each game day. He will also oversee the student worker scheduling for game day operations.
Schmidt, joined the Swarthmore College team in December of 2021 as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. In this role, Schmidt will assist the Director of Sports Performance in designing and executing workouts geared toward optimizing performance and decreasing injury potential for student-athletes. He will also teach proper weight-lifting, speed, agility, and conditioning techniques. Schmidt will also teach a physical education class.
