CLEARWATER, Fla.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse upped its record to 5-0 with a 13-7 win over Marywood University in the final game of the team's spring break trip to Florida.
Eleanor Miller and Mackenzie Frost each netted hat tricks in the victory to lead Swarthmore. Julia Ostrowski recorded a brace, and Sydnie Schwarz, Patty Gannon, Kacy Hafertepe, Sophie Peipher and Megan Jones all scored a goal as well.
Peipher who had a team-high four draw controls, recorded two assists as well.
Swarthmore converted 5-of-9 free-position shots and kept Marywood to just 1-of-8 from the arc.
Swarthmore darted out to a 3-0 lead against the Pacers. Jones put Swarthmore on the board less than eight minutes in, Hafertepe followed with a goal two minutes later, and Miller found her first goal off a feed from Jones.
After Marywood responded with a goal, Swarthmore rattled off four straight goals. Marywood then closed out the half strong with a 4-1 run.
Frost got Swarthmore going in the second half with a goal off a feed from Peipher less than two minutes in. Peipher scored a little over a minute later and the Garnet were doubling up the Pacers 10-5. Swarthmore's lead stayed steady at 12-6 and the two teams traded goals in the final 90 seconds.
Katee Kemether recorded 14 saves in the win.
Swarthmore is now out-scoring its opponents 66-36 this season.
