BRIDGEWATER, Va.—After opening the season with a pair of losses, Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse is now on a four-game win streak after Wednesday afternoon's win at Bridgewater College. The Garnet's fiver in the second quarter while shutting out the Eagles in that period proved to be the difference in the 15-10 win.
Austin Chang led Swarthmore with five goals, and in the process moved into fourth all-time in program history in total goals with 108.
Jake Ross and Alec Ferry each posted a pair of goals. Nathaniel Johns, Andrew Estella, Kieran McKenna, Will Vespole, Zander Levitz and Jackson Brosgol found the back of the net once apiece.
Swarthmore found playing time for all four goalies and Frankie Dillon had a team high five saves.
Chang netted a pair of first quarter goals, and the Garnet went into the second period tied at 3-3. A tally by Jackson Brosgol to open the second quarter sparked a 6-0 Garnet run that stretched into the third quarter. Bridgewater's scoring drought ended with straight goals in the early part of the third quarter, but Swarthmore answered right back with three of its own.
Swarthmore's lead reached 15-7 with five minutes left and Bridgewater gained back three goals late, but it wasn't nearly enough.
Over the past four contests, Swarthmore has won by an average of 7.5 goals per game.
