RADNOR, Pa.—Swarthmore College Volleyball continued its winning ways on Saturday, improving to 3-0 with wins over Mount Aloysius and Washington & Jefferson. The Garnet handled the Mounties in three sets and then held off the Presidents in five sets to cap off the tournament.
Swarthmore 3, Mount Aloysius 0
(25-12, 25-15, 25-20)
Swarthmore hit .206 for the match and limited the Mounties to a flat .000 hitting percentage for the match. Emma Morgan-Bennett's 10 kills were a match high and she hit .474 for the duration of the match. Outside hitter Mehra den Braven scooped up a match-leading 12 digs. Middle blocker Isabelle Andrews took part in five blocks. Alyssa Nathan's four aces were a match high as well.
The Garnet cruised to victories in the first two sets, and while the Mounties made things more interesting in the third set, Swarthmore took care of business to clinch the match.

(25-17, 25-13, 23-25, 23-25, 15-3)
Later in the afternoon, Swarthmore tussled with the Presidents in a five-set bout. The Garnet again kept their opponent's hitting percentage to a minuscule figure as this time, the Presidents hit just .019 for the match. Swarthmore posted a modest .146 effort for the match.
The Garnet kept the Presidents hitting negative in the first two sets and took those sets with ease, 25-17, 25-13. However, Washington & Jefferson stormed back, hitting .276 in the third set and then out-hitting Swarthmore again in the fourth set. Swarthmore dropped both the third and fourth sets by just two points and the match needed to be decided with a fifth set.
The Garnet left no doubt in the fifth set and cruised to a 15-3 win.
Rookie Chloe Mayhue led the Garnet with 13 kills. Classmate Sierra Tyson dealt out 39 assists to Swarthmore's attack. Andrews' .429 hitting performance paced the Garnet at the net.
The 3-0 Garnet travel to Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, next weekend to face Carnegie Mellon, Juniata and Ithaca.
