CARLISLE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse trailed by just one goal at halftime against the No. 25 Dickinson College Red Devils but fell by a final score of 14-9.
Tess Wild and
Kathryn Restrepo each record hat tricks for the Garnet, and the remaining three goals came from
Julia Ostrowski,
Kacy Hafertepe and
Mackenzie Frost.
Ostrowski picked up a team-high seven draw controls.
The Garnet never led in the contest, but consistently matched the nationally-ranked Red Devils throughout the first half. The Red Devils scored the first goal two minutes into the contest, but Swarhtmore returned the favor on a tally by Restrepo two minutes later. The Red Devils then netted a pair of goals, but then so did the Garnet, scoring in quick succession with Restrepo's second at 18:19 and Wild's at 17:05.
The Garnet and Red Devils then traded goals two more times and Swarthmore evened the score at 5-5 on Hafertepe's goal with 9:38 remaining in the first half.
Dickinson snuck in one more goal before halftime and then tallied three straight to open the second half. Swarthmore brought it back to within three goals with 17:53 left after Restrepo's third, but couldn't get any closer.

Swarthmore looks to bounce back at home on Wednesday against Muhlenberg College in a 7 p.m. game.
