INDIANAPOLIS—Swarthmore College Women's Soccer accepted an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament on Monday, extending Swarthmore's NCAA postseason run to six straight seasons.
The Garnet, despite not making the Centennial Conference Tournament, were considered one of the top 10 teams in the Mid-Atlantic after boasting a 12-5 overall record and a 5-1 non-conference record.
Swarthmore now has a date with the No. 15 Arcadia University Knights on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. The 25th-ranked Tartans host the Cairn University Highlanders in Saturday's 5 p.m. game. The winners of Saturday's games meet at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Carnegie Mellon for the round of 32.
Arcadia (15-3-3) lost in the MAC Commonwealth Championship 3-0 to No. 1 Messiah College on Saturday. Cairn went 12-4-4 on the year and claimed the CSAC title in PKs against Cedar Crest College. Carnegie Mellon (11-5-1) finished fourth in the UAA and received an at-large bid.
