SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore College Women's Basketball went on a 12-3 run during the first four minutes of the fourth quarter of Tueday's game against Muhlenberg College, but the Garnet lost 64-51.
Down by 23 at half, the Garnet won the third quarter 15-12 and the fourth 18-11. Swarthmore's 23 points allowed in the second half is the least its allowed in any half since the Garnet beat Bryn Mawr 70-59 on Dec. 5. The Owls scored 23 against the Garnet in the first half of that game.
First-year sophomore guard
Faith Nation had a career-high and game-high 17 points on Tuesday. In 26 minutes on the floor, Nation made 7-of-14 shots while shooting 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.
Garnet junior guard
Elizabeth Stiles tied her season high with a game-high eight assists. Stiles is the team's leading scorer at 8.2 per game and the team's leader in assists at 2.6 per game.
Swarthmore freshman forward
Erin Cronin grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in the loss.
The Garnet play at Tarble Pavilion again on Thursday at 6 p.m. as they take on Haverford College in another Centennial Conference matchup.
