The Garnet bounced back with a lopsided sweep of Medaille, cruising to a 25-14, 25-8, 25-9 rout. In the first set, the Garnet opened up an 11-point lead at 16-5 and never looked back. Swarthmore carried the momentum into the second frame and won eight of the first 10 points for a comfortable lead. A 12-0 run to start set number three ended any hopes for a Medaille comeback as the Garnet improved to 2-2 on the season.
Swarthmore will face stiff competition at next weekend's ASICS Invitational hosted by Juniata College, opening against Messiah College on Friday, Sep. 8 at 5 p.m.
