GETTYSBURG, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Swimming experienced just its second Centennial Conference defeat of the season, falling on the road at Gettysburg College 147-115 on Saturday.
Swarthmore underclassmen Clare Cushing, Selina Ye and Emily Bley all earned event wins for the Garnet.
Cushing, a freshman, had the freestyle trifecta, winning the 200-, 500- and 1,000-yard races. Cushing took the 200 in 1:59.05, the 500 in 5:18.92 and the 1,000 in 10:49.44.
Freshman Selina Ye won both the 100 back (1:00.97) and the 200 IM (2:15.91).
Sophomore Emily Bley edged teammate Erica Flor by a half-second for first place in the 200 back with a time of 2:14.21.
The Garnet also had four second-place finishes in addition to Flor's: Elizabeth Staton in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.14) and 200 breaststroke (2:31.47), Sophie Moody in the 100 free (56.35), and Ashley Hwang in the 100 fly (1:02.07).
Swarthmore, 6-2 in dual meets this year, hosts Dickinson College next Saturday at 1 p.m. in the final dual meet of the season.
