SWARTHMORE, Pa.–The Swarthmore College baseball team (12-3) used a season-high 21 hits, including nine extra-base knocks, to secure a 19-4 win over the City College of New York (0-17) on Friday, March 18.
Shortstop
Wesley Fishburn finished a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, three runs and two RBIs. Freshmen

Justin Pontrella and sophomore
Cal Barnett-Mayotte also collected multiple hits for the Garnet, who won their third consecutive game. Ten different players crossed the plate for Swarthmore and 12 drove in at least one run on the afternoon.
Jackson Ramey earned his second win of the year with just four hits and one earned run in six innings of work. The sophomore made quick work of the Beavers with only 75 pitches thrown.
CCNY took a 1-0 lead after the top of the first before Swarthmore answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the frame. Fishburn led off with a triple and was driven in two batters later by
Nico Aldaco. Swarthmore took the lead for good in the second with a five-run outburst. With one out and the bases loaded,
Charles Levitt singled to right field for an RBI and Fishburn plated a pair with a double down the left field line. A failed pickoff put another run on the board and
Roy Walker's single to center field gave the Garnet a 6-1 advantage.
The home team piled on four more runs in the fourth, sixth and eighth innings for its highest run total since last season's 21-0 triumph over Cairn on March 17, 2015. The Garnet continue their homestand with a doubleheader against SUNY Canton on Saturday, March 19. The first game will start at 12:00 p.m. with the nightcap scheduled tentatively for 2:30 p.m.
