ANNVILLE, Pa.–With a 3-0 win over Moravian in the ECAC quarterfinal, the Swarthmore College volleyball team earned its 25th win of the season, the highest total in program history.
The Garnet swept the Greyhounds earlier this season and followed suit on Saturday with a 25-15, 25-19, 25-17 result.
Outside hitter
Sarah Wallace tallied 15 digs and now has 980 for her career.
Mehra den Braven led all players with nine kills and
Emma Morgan-Bennett put down seven blocks with three of the solo variety.
Malia Scott distributed 15 assists and the Garnet held the Greyhounds to a .086 hitting mark.
The first set was close until 13-13 when Swarthmore went on a five-point run to create separation from Moravian. The Hounds closed to 18-14 before six consecutive points on Girard's serve put the set away.
The second frame proceeded similarly as the teams played evenly to a 19-19 tie. Wallace, however, took control on her serve with two aces and Morgan-Bennett had a hand in two blocks as Swarthmore ran off six points to take a 2-0 lead.
The Garnet hit .303 in the third set and limited their opponents to a .077 clip. Swarthmore never trailed and claimed seven of the first nine points. Kills by Wallace and
