SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Swimming swam past Gettysburg College 143-119 in Saturday's Senior Day meet. The six Swarthmore seniors experienced a win over Gettysburg for the first time.
Seniors
Riley Collins,
Michael McVerry,
Nikhil Paladugu,
David Ranshous,
Kurtis Swartz and
Joshua Turek-Hurman were all honored prior to the meet.
Freshman
Jeffrey Tse took first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley, finishing with times of 52.66 and 2:00.29 respectively.
Tse also took part in the 200-yard medley relay with
Charles Yang,
Alejandro Hernandez, and
Andrew Steele that took first with a time of 1:35.77.
Freshman
Chris Smith edged the competition in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:47.14 time that was less than half a second faster than the second-place finisher. Classmate
Michael Lutzker finished the 200-yard butterfly in first with a 2:00.50 time.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Lutzker came in first and Smith came in second with times of 4:52.65 and 4:58.04, respectively.
The Garnet will swim against Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., on Saturday at 2 p.m.
