INDIANAPOLIS—The NCAA announced on Friday that Swarthmore's
Supriya Davis '15 is one of the nine finalists for the 2015 Woman of the Year Award.
Davis is a two-time All-American swimmer who is currently using her Fulbright Scholarship to partake in medical research in New Delhi, India. As a student at Swarthmore, Davis majored in both chemistry and computer science. Her current research is designed to find new ways to diagnose tuberculosis. In her personal statement to the NCAA, Davis attributed her success to the leadership skills and work ethic she developed while being a student-athlete at Swarthmore.
Three women from each of the NCAA's three divisions have been selected as finalists and the winner will be announced on Oct. 18 at an award ceremony in Indianapolis.
