Liam Fitzstevens took first in two individual events in leading the Swarthmore College men's swimming team to a 104-101 win over Dickinson College on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The meet came down to the final 400-yard freestyle relay in which sophomore
Andrew Steele, junior
David Ranshous, freshman
Ben Hsiung and sophomore Steve Sekula were able to take first with a time of 3:15.93.
Fitzstevens won the 200-yard individual medley and the 200-yard butterfly by finishing with times of 2:00.56 and 2:00.09, respectively, as a double winner for the Garnet.
Other contributors to the win were Hsiung and Steele. Hsiung finished first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.58, and Steele also placed first in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.04.
The senior class consisting of
Ryan Guerrero-Moreno,
Rodrigo Hernandez,
Max Krackow,
Tony Lee and
Samuel Tomlinson was recognized prior to the meet before ending the day on a high note.
Swarthmore (3-5, CC 2-4) will next compete at the Centennial Conference Championships in Gettysburg from Feb. 20-22.
