ABINGTON, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Basketball improved to 7-0 on the year following a 90-60 win on the road against the PSU-Abington Lions on Wednesday night.
Four Garnet players reached double-digits in points with
Chris Bourne leading the way with a game-high 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting. Bourne is leading the Garnet with 17.1 points per game. Freshman guard
Christian Rhodes scored a career-high 14 points in 10 minutes of action, and
Robbie Walsh and
Zack Yonda each recorded 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Garnet shot a season best 69.8 percent from the floor, going 37-for-53. Swarthmore was again controlling on the glass, claiming 44 rebounds to Abington's 21.
PSU-Abington temporarily took the lead less than three minutes into the contest, but after a jumper from
Chris Bourne evened the game at 6-6, Swarthmore took off on an 11-0 run and never looked back. Swarthmore led 41-25 by halftime. The Garnet lead reached 20 with 19 minutes remaining in the second half and never slipped beneath 20 the rest of the game.
Swarthmore resumes competition on December 19 when it hosts Earlham College.
