SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Basketball scored more than 100 points for the first time since 2004, downing the Wells College Express 103-66 on Sunday afternoon in the Garnet Holiday Tournament Championship. Six players scored in double figures as the Garnet cruised to their ninth consecutive win to start the 2015-16 campaign.
Zack Yonda and
Robbie Walsh were named to the All-Tournament team. The two were unstoppable in the first half, scoring 26 of the Garnet's first 28 points and giving Swarthmore a 15-point lead 13 minutes into the game. Yonda finished with a game-high 23 points on 8-of-11 (72.7 percent) shooting, including 5-for-7 (71.4 percent) from 3-point range. Walsh added 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting (83.3 percent) and had seven rebounds and three blocks.
Forward
Chris Bourne chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds. Swarthmore had major contributions off the bench, tallying 46 bench points. Andrew Kauffman went a perfect 5-for-5 en route to 14 points. Freshman

Christian Rhodes scored 11 points.
The Garnet doubled up the Express on the glass, 46-23. In this season's 9-0 start, the Garnet have a rebounding margin of +14.4 rebounds per game over its opponents.
Swarthmore never trailed in Sunday's game and led by 23 points by halftime. Swarthmore shot 54.2 percent from the floor, and after a weak showing behind the arc Saturday, were much improved on Sunday, knocking down 13-of-29 3-point attempts (44.8 percent). The Garnet also went 12-for-13 from the free-throw line. Swarthmore contained Wells and kept the Express to 36.5 percent shooting overall.
The Garnet are back in action on January 3 at Delaware Valley College.
