Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College volleyball team wins third straight match with victory over Widener University on Tuesday, September 16 from Tarble Pavilion. The Garnet improves to 5-2 on the season after set score victories of 25-17, 25-16, 25-23, while the Pride falls to 1-11.
Freshman outside hitter
Sarah Wallace - ranked 32nd in kills per set for the current week's national standings - recorded a double-double of 15 kills and 10 digs, while contributing two block assists for the Garnet. For the defense, freshman
Olivia Leventhal led the team with 11 digs and classmate
Malia Scott chipped in with eight digs.
At the net, senior
Chastity Hopkins delivered six block assists, while freshman
Bridget Scott came down with four assists. The team finished with eight total blocks on the evening.
Junior
Sam DuBois set the attack with 27 assists as both Hopkins and Leventhal swung eight kills in the three-set match.
For the Pride, Victoria Miller anchored the defense with 16 digs, Kaitlin Schnaizer and Brooke Ruditys finished with nine and eight kills, respectively.
The Garnet will return to action on Friday, September 19 traveling to Elizabethtown College for the two-day Blue Jay Classic.
