SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's swim team celebrated it's graduating class of eight seniors on Saturday afternoon from Ware Pool. The visiting Gettysburg College Bullets of the Centennial Conference took the dual meet victory by a 175-87 score.Â
The Garnet congratulated it's senior class of
Peter Ballen,
John Flaherty,
Zachary Gavin, Henry Kieztman,
Stan Le,
Brian Nadel,
Cyrus Nasseri and
Fredrick Toohey prior to the first event.Â
Freshman
Liam Fitzstevens led the Garnet with two event victories - the 100 backstroke and the 500 freestyle. Fitzstevens recorded season-bests in both events with marks of 54.76 (100 backstroke) and 4:59.54 (500 freestyle).Â
Flaherty recorded the other event victory for Swarthmore, taking the 200 butterfly with a season-best 2:01.95 finish. He also swam to a season-best finish in the 200 backstroke with a 2:03.59 mark for second place.Â
Kietzman took second in the 200 butterfly with a season-best time of 2:10.41, while
Samuel Tomlinson also swam to a season-best finish in the 100 freestyle (49.76).Â
Swarthmore concludes the regular season at Dickinson College on Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m.
