Box Score 2 ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College volleyball team conclude the 2014 campaign with a third place finish in the ECAC Southeast Championship. On Saturday, Nov.15 the Garnet lost to Marymount (28-11) 3-1 in the semifinal match before defeating Neumann University (23-14) in straight sets in the consolation match.Â
Freshman
Sarah Wallace led Swarthmore (24-8) with a combined 34 kills and 15 digs on the day, hitting at a .358 clip. Junior setter
Sam DuBois added two more double-doubles to her season total after 26 assists and 19 digs against Marymount and 25 assists and 12 digs against Neumann. Junior libero
Madison Heppe anchored the Garnet defense with 38 digs in the two matches, while earning three service aces against Marymount.Â
On the block, freshman
Alice Liu came down with four blocks against Neumann and freshman
Bridget Scott recorded six on the day.Â
Note: First-seeded Lebanon Valley went on to defeat Marymount three sets to one to take the ECAC Southeast Championship title.Â
