Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College field hockey team fell by a 7-0 decision to Washington College on Thursday, Oct. 9 at Clothier Field.
The Shorewomen scored four goals in the first half and three in the second to win their fifth straight game. Senior Jackie O'Connell put the visitors on the board 7:36 into the match when she finished a short cross from sophomore Jennifer Tordella. After sophomore Elizabeth Davis scored two straight goals off of penalty corners, Alli Dudley caged an unassisted tally to make it 4-0 at the break. Freshman Michaela Connors then recorded a natural hat trick in a span of 3:17 to cap the scoring in the second half.
Junior goalkeeper Sadie Robertson earned the shutout win for Washington College (10-1, CC 3-1) without recording a save.
Ainsley Parrish, a junior, turned away 12 shots for the Garnet before
Ellory Laning relieved her late in the second half and made two stops.
Swarthmore (1-11, CC 0-5) continues a three-game homestand when it hosts Gettysburg on Saturday, Oct. 11 at noon.
