Reba Magier had a career-high 16 saves, but the Swarthmore women's soccer team was dealt a hard-fought 3-0 loss to #2 Johns Hopkins on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Homewood Field.
The undefeated Blue Jays got goals from Christina Convey and Hannah Kronick in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Kronick, who also led her team with six shots in the match, followed up with another goal in the 82nd minute to close out the scoring.
Johns Hopkins (10-0, CC 3-0) goalkeeper Kelly Leddy made seven saves on 10 chances, while Swarthmore's Magier made 16 saves on 32 opportunities. The Garnet sophomore nearly doubled her previous career high of nine saves, which she established in a 1-0 win over Muhlenberg on Nov. 1, 2012.
Swarthmore (5-3-1, CC 1-2-1) will next face Gettysburg on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. on Clothier Field.
