Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's basketball team closed its regular season home campaign with an 82-35 Centennial Conference victory over the Bryn Mawr College Owls as nine players contributed to the offensive effort.
In Swarthmore's "Play 4Kay" breast cancer initiative game, pledges were made for each three-pointer in the game to raise funds for the The Kay Yow Cancer Fund in breast cancer research. The Garnet and Owls teams combined for 16 three-pointers – including nine in the first half.
The Garnet (19-5, 15-4) offense was led by freshman Jessica Jowdy and senior Eliza Polli with 18 points apiece; the duo also combined for 10 treys. Junior Katie Lytle recorded her 17th double-double with 17 rebounds and 11 points.
Nicolette Parmese finished with 15 points for the Owls (1-23, 0-19) and Liandra collected seven boards and six points.
A 16-3 contest after the opening five minutes, Swarthmore held the momentum and tilt of the court with Lytle leading the charge with seven points. Polli ran hot beyond the arc, opening the first half shooting 80 percent (4-of-5) – she finished 6-for-7 from the three-point line.
Freshman Abbey Deckard closed out the first frame scoring with a trey to put the Garnet ahead 42-13 entering the break. First-place Swarthmore continued to roll in the second half en route to the conference victory. The Owls tallied most of its point at the line, finishing 14-for-25 with Curtis hitting 6-of-10 shots.
Swarthmore will finish the regular season on Saturday visiting Haverford College with the tip set for 1 p.m.
