Box Score HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Swarthmore College men's soccer team controlled much of the match, but the #14 Garnet fell to Stevens by a 1-0 score on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the DeBaun Athletic Complex. The nationally-ranked Ducks dealt the Garnet their first loss of the season.
Stevens (9-1-1), which was recently tabbed 11th in the country by the NSCAA, broke through with the only goal of the match shortly before halftime. Zeke Hemme headed in a corner kick taken by Colin Phillips to provide the Ducks the only insurance they would need to eventually escape with the win.
The second half saw back and forth action, but neither team was able to log another goal. Stevens had one called back for being offside, and Swarthmore's best chance of the night was turned over the crossbar by Ducks goalkeeper Paul Killian.
