Garnet Swept By Diplomats on the Road

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College volleyball team fell to Centennial Conference opponent Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday evening in straight sets. The Diplomats earned the victory with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-18 to remain undefeated in conference play.

For Swarthmore (11-9, 1-5 CC) sophomore setter Sam DuBois clipped her fifth straight double-double - 15th on the season - with 22 assists and 16 digs for the defense. Anastasia White-Torruellas '16 had a career-best two solo blocks and senior Brone Lobichusky compiled three block assists in the match. Madison Heppe '16 anchored the defense with 21 digs - she's had double-digit digs in 19 of 20 matches on the season. 

The Dips (18-4, 6-0 CC) were led by Ellie Ezekiel with 15 kills, 11 digs and one solo block. Franklin and Marshall's defense kept up with the pace as Alyssa Sanchez and Parys Zambas had 14 and 11 digs, respectively. On the line, Julie Harvey came up with one solo block and two assists, while contributing six kills to the offense.

The Garnet will travel the familiar Route-320 for a non-conference tri-match with Widener and Neumann on Saturday, October 19.
