WAYNE, Pa. - On a very soggy, wet Thursday afternoon, the Swarthmore College field hockey team dropped its sixth straight game to non-conference opponent Eastern University by a 6-1 score. 

Eastern (6-7) took an early lead and didn't concede a goal until the 67th minute to defeat Swarthmore (2-10). The Eagles had three players with multiple points - Jess Kinzler tallied two goals, while Danielle Frasca and Jess Jaindl each had a goal and an assist in the game.

Senior forward Nia Jones tallied the lone goal for the Garnet - she's scored once in the four of the last five games - late in the final frame with a cross from sophomore Julia Thomas. Swarthmore's Erin Gluck '16 and Ursula Monaghan '17 each put two shots on goal, but couldn't find the opening.

Between the pipes, Jennifer O'Neill earned the win making four stops while her counterparts Gabby Capone '14 made five stops in 50:17 of action and sophomore Ainsley Parrish finished in net making one stop for the Garnet. 

Swarthmore will return to Centennial Conference action hosting McDaniel College on Saturday, October 12 at 12:00 p.m.
