HARRISBURG, Pa. - Behind a sizzling 305 final round, the Swarthmore College golf team finished in second place at the 2012 Centennial Conference Championships from the Blue Ridge Country Club.

Swarthmore finished with an overall score of 935, just four strokes behind champion Franklin & Marshall (931). Host Dickinson finished third overall with a 937.

The second-place finish equals the best result at the Centennial Championship in program history; the 2007 squad tied for second place with McDaniel.

Leading the way for the Garnet was senior Paul Weston. Thanks to a final round 73, Weston finished the three-day tournament with a 225, placing him in a three-way tie for first place along with F&M's Cameron Warner and McDaniel's Greg Bowman. Unfortunately for Weston, Warner birdied the playoff hole to take the individual championship. Despite the tough playoff loss, Weston became just the second Swarthmore golfer to finish tied for first at the Centennial Conference championship tournament (joining Matt Kauffman in 2002) and just the third golfer to earn First Team All-Centennial Conference honors three times in career.

Right behind Weston was freshman Andrew Park. Thanks to a final round 73, Park carded a 230 for the tournament, good for fourth overall and First Team All-Conference honors. Park is just the 16th freshman and first since 2009 to earn First Team All-Conference honors.

Coming in third for the Garnet was sophomore Kyle Knapp, whose final round 76 placed him 12th overall with a 240. Rounding out the Swarthmore squad were sophomores Sam White (14th/243) and Jeff Wall (22nd/247).

Swarthmore's final round 305 was the lowest round by any team in the tournament.
