Men's Swimming Routs Widener, 108-59

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Depth across the board gave the Swarthmore men's swim team (2-0, 1-0) the consistency it needed to take down 320-rival Widener by a 108-59 score on Wednesday evening from Ware Pool.

The Garnet started off the meet in dominating fashion, taking the opening 400 medley relay by seven seconds, courtesy of sophomore Sam Tomlinson, junior Stan Le, and seniors Roger Chin and Daniel Duncan. The next event was also a sound success for Swarthmore, as seniors Josh Satre and Charlie Hepper finished 1-2 in the 1000 freestyle (10:34.44 and 10:34.72).

Freshman Riley Collins was the Garnet's only individual double-winner, taking the 200 IM (2:11.66) and 200 breaststroke (2:25.76).  Sophomore Max Krackow (50 freestyle, 22.59), Duncan (200 fly, 1:58.78) and Tomlinson (200 backstroke, 2:03.41) all scored individual victories for Swarthmore.

Duncan and Tomlinson teamed up with freshman Josh Turek-Herman and junior Jake Benveniste to win the 400 freestyle relay in 3:26.34.

Swarthmore returns to Centennial Conference action on Sunday as Franklin & Marshall visits Ware Pool. Action is set to begin at 1pm.
