Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 3 seed Swarthmore College (19-6) volleyball team saw its playoff-run end in straight sets as No. 2 seed Johns Hopkins (28-3) advances with a 3-0 victory in the second Centennial Conference semifinal match of the day, with set scores of (25-20, 25-18, 25-15).
Senior setter Allie Coleman surpassed the program's career assist record, previously 3,199 as set by Emily Conlon (2002-05), at the beginning of the second set, collecting the necessary 10-assists. She concluded the match with 20 assists to set a new record at 3,210 assists and counting.
Kate Amodei led with 12 digs to set the defense, while Zahra Ahmed and Danielle Sullivan each tallied seven kills to lead the Garnet offense.
The Blue Jays carried much of the momentum throughout the entire match, highlighted by the performances of Jasmine Warmington, collecting 15 kills on 22 attempts for at .545 hitting percentage. Carolyn Zin and Mariel Metalios combined for 31 digs and the front line managed eight total blocks.
The Blue Jays will meet No. 1 Franklin & Marshall tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm in the championship match.
