GLASSBORO, N.J. - The Swarthmore women's swim team took its first loss of the season on Saturday, falling in non-Conference action to the Rowan University Owls by a close 139-123 score.
Despite the loss, the Garnet put up a good number of strong performances. The women won seven individual events, led by three victories from sophomore Kate Wiseman. Wiseman outpaced the field in all three short-to-middle distance freestyle events, winning the 50 (25.42), 100 (54.95), and 200 (1:58.45).
Sophomore Supriya Davis won two events, the 100 (59.77) and 200 butterfly (2:12.62). Freshman Nikkia Miller won the 100 breaststroke, barely outtouching teammate Eva Winter (1:11.05 to 1:11.81). Junior Margaret Regan won the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.55, with Winter following just a tenth of a second behind.
The women also won the 200 medley relay in 1:54.31, behind Davis, Miller, Wiseman, and junior Rebecca Teng.
The Garnet will return to action on the weekend of November 30-December 1, as the team hosts the Swarthmore Invitational.
