Julia Malseed began coaching with the Garnet in 2016. Malseed, a Ridley High School graduate (2012), has experience offensively and defensively as she played two seasons at Neumann as their libero and two seasons as an outside hitter. She was awarded Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) academic honors every season. She also received honorable mention and first team all-conference honors her junior and senior seasons. In 2012, Malseed was able to experience winning a CSAC championship and participated in NCAA tournament. She was also a member of the Neumann University softball team her senior year, where they won the CSAC championship and earned a berth in the NCAA tournament.
Before joining Swarthmore's staff, Julia coached with Mystique Volleyball Club for 4 years and is still currently coaching in her fifth season. Additionally, her camp and clinic experience includes coaching at Garnet Volleyball clinics, Ridley High School preseason camps and Neumann University Volleyball Camps.
Malseed is following her passion of working in professional sports and currently works for the Philadelphia Union where she is a Fan Services Representative.
