Kelsey Johnson Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Kelsey Johnson of the Swarthmore College women's tennis team has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 12, the Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Johnson finished last week a perfect 6-0 in doubles and singles matches against Conference opponents Ursinus and Franklin & Marshall, as well as  No. 18 TCNJ.  She teamed up with senior Luann Cignavitch in doubles action, taking down opponents in less than 12 games in each match, including an 8-0 sweep of Franklin & Marshall's doubles' team. Johnson was also the only Swarthmore player to go 3-0 last week in singles play, surrendering only one set to her opponents.

The Garnet return to action on Wednesday against Tri-Co rival Bryn Mawr. The venue of the match has changed and will now be played from Swarthmore's Mullan Tennis Center at 4:00 p.m.
