Harry Ischiropoulos enters his fifth season as assistant coach for the Garnet. He began his soccer career in Thessaloniki, Greece in the youth systems of Iraklis FC and national selection teams. After high school, he arrived in New York to pursue his college education while playing semi-professional soccer for clubs in New York, California and Alabama. He was a member of Alabama's Olympic festival team. Upon arriving in Philadelphia, he has played with several local clubs, most recently with the Radnor United over-40 club that has won the National Veteran's cup, the Keystone indoor games and toured England.
Ischiropoulos, a graduate of Wagner College ('84) and New York Medical College ('90), is a Joseph Stokes Jr. Investigator and the Gisela and Dennis Alter Research Professor of Pediatrics and Pharmacology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania.
Ischiropoulos is primarily involved with technical player development and tactical analysis of the Garnet’s matches. Last August, Harry was the primary organizer of the team’s outstanding pre-season training trip to Crete and Athens, Greece. Ischiropoulos lives in Nether Providence with his wife, Patti and sons, Dean and Alex.
