HAVERFORD, Pa.--Swarthmore College Men's Track & Field finished in fourth place at the Keogh Invitational at Haverford College on Saturday in a tune-up before next week's Centennial Conference Championship. Swarthmore collected 43.5 points in the meet.
Felix Laniyan, a soccer player at Swarthmore competing in his first track event, set the school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.19 seconds.
In the 200m,
Adil Belgaumi finished in fourth (23.62).
Freshman
Kevin Hudson took fourth in the 800m with a time of 1:59.74, and sophomore
Frank Kenny came in fifth in the mile with a time of 4:28.64.
Mayank Agrawal ran the 3000m in 9:07.20 for seventh place and five points for the Garnet.
Lucas Heinzerling added a point with a time of 9:27.79.
In the relays, Swarthmore's
Daniel Belkin,
Saadiq Garba,
Adil Belgaumi and
Benjamin Hejna ran to third place in the 4x200 (1:35.78), and in the 4x400, Belkin, Garba, Hudson and
Judah Raab took fifth in 3:38.62.
Belkin reached the highest mark in the Centennial Conference this season in the high jump (1.9m).
Hejna had the second-best long jump on Saturday (6.34m).
Swarthmore went one-and-two in the shot put with
Jared Hunt (14.21m) and
Ryan Marrone (14.16m).
The Garnet compete in the conference championship on Friday and Saturday at Ursinus College.
